How To Get Rid of Bunny Lines: Your Treatment Options at MFI
At MFI, we take the time to evaluate your concerns and determine whether bunny lines can be treated individually or if a more comprehensive rejuvenation package would give you better results.
Targeted Bunny Lines Treatment
We use botulinum toxin injections, such as BOTOX or Dysport®, to temporarily relax the muscles responsible for causing wrinkles and lines. Our skilled Injectors administer the neurotoxin to the nasalis muscle to reduce the appearance of bunny lines. In younger patients, this approach can actually prevent bunny lines from forming.

How Much Does Bunny Lines Treatment Cost?
A targeted treatment of the bunny lines includes up to 20 units of BOTOX. If you choose to purchase our Forehead & Brow Package, it includes up to 40 units of BOTOX. Please visit our dedicated pricing page for the most current cost information.
Once your lines have been erased, you’ll enter into the maintenance phase of treatment. This means you only need to come in about every 3 to 4 months for touch-ups.

Overactive Muscles
Sometimes facial muscles work a little too hard, becoming overdeveloped so they never fully relax. This tension creates lines or creases on the overlying skin. For some people, overactive nasalis muscles contribute to bunny lines.
Aging/Stressed Skin
As you age, your skin becomes progressively thinner and more susceptible to damage. This can be attributed to the breakdown of fat, reduced collagen synthesis, and decreased elasticity in facial ligaments. Environmental elements such as sun exposure, pollutants, and stress further contribute to your skin’s aging. As a result, your skin can’t rebound like it did when you were younger.

Consultation and Planning for Your Bunny Lines BOTOX
Your First Visit
Your successful bunny line treatment experience starts with a thorough consultation with one of our Injectors at our chic, friendly San Francisco office. We always take the time to educate you about our process and about the products we will use in your procedure. You will be an integral part of developing a treatment plan, and your Injector will be sure to answer all your questions during the process.
Next, we take professional-level photographs of your face from all angles. We utilize these photos at every visit to identify your concerns and monitor your progress. Using both the photos and the in-person examination, we map out a customized treatment plan tailored to your anatomy and goals.
Your personalized treatment plan may include any or all of the following:
Injections into the depressor muscles to relax them and erase your bunny lines
Optional additional treatment to adjacent areas for a more comprehensive upper face refresh
Please plan to spend up to 90 minutes in the office for your first visit, which includes consultation, prep, treatment, photography, aftercare education, and scheduling your next appointment.
Your Bunny Lines BOTOX Procedure
If at your initial appointment, we agree that BOTOX is right for you, we will usually proceed with treatment immediately. We will have you wash your face with an antiseptic cleanser to prevent infection, followed by “before” photos and marking the injection sites.
Neuromodulators are introduced with a very fine needle into specific facial muscles. The product blocks nerve signals to the muscle, and over approximately 4 to 10 days, the muscle will relax.
For the best BOTOX experience, follow these tips in advance of your appointment:
A few days before your appointment, restrict blood thinners, such as anti-inflammatories, fish oil, and alcohol. Limiting these will reduce your risk of bruising after your BOTOX injections.
DO NOT discontinue prescribed, medically necessary medications.
Eat and drink a normal breakfast or lunch prior to your appointment; low blood sugar can make patients lightheaded during treatment.
Recovery & Aftercare
Immediately after BOTOX for bunny lines, you may experience minor swelling, bruising (rarely), tenderness, and redness at the injection sites. These are normal side effects and are most apparent 24 to 48 hours after treatment. Most patients return to their routine activities the same day.

Bunny lines are the small wrinkles or creases that appear on the sides of the nose when you scrunch or wrinkle your nose. They resemble the slight lines that a bunny’s nose might create when it wiggles its nose.
How many units of BOTOX will I need for bunny lines?
On average, bunny lines alone require about 5 to 10 units of BOTOX. This is a very common question, and while we cannot, with precision, determine how much product each patient will need for specific treatment concerns without evaluating them, we can provide a general estimate.
Can you get rid of bunny lines naturally?
The question of how to get rid of bunny lines naturally usually means without medical intervention. While the internet may offer many “natural” remedies for bunny lines and other wrinkles, no device or cream can relax the muscles that cause expression lines. At this time, the only way to relax the muscles and prevent the nose from creasing is through neuromodulator injections.
