Interested In Restylane Products?

In San Francisco, CA, and throughout the Bay Area, interest in dermal fillers for facial rejuvenation is growing with each passing week. Restylane is rapidly establishing a name for itself as a family of fillers designed for customized, natural-looking results. The product line includes Restylane, Restylane® Lyft, Restylane® Silk, Restylane® Refyne, and Restylane® Defyne, and offers options for enhancing virtually all areas of the face without surgery.

It’s no wonder these alternatives to plastic surgery are gaining such momentum. Just at the time when most of us are finding it more and more acceptable—in fact, desirable—to take aggressive measures to look our best longer, time available for surgery and recovery is shrinking. The demands of family, job, and other obligations leave us scant opportunity for time out.

About the Restylane Family of Products

The active ingredient in all of these products is hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that binds water to cells. All of them work on the same principle: lifting and supporting surface skin from beneath by both filling in for lost tissue and increasing hydration. All are made by the same company, and the main difference between them is the particle size and the cross-linking technology used.

Restylane

Restylane is formulated to visibly correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including nasolabial folds (the lines that run from your nose toward the corners of your mouth) and marionette lines (the lines that run from the corners of your mouth down the chin). It is also FDA-approved for lip enhancement in patients over 21.

Restylane Lyft

Restylane Lyft, formerly known as Perlane-L®, is specifically formulated to add fullness to the cheeks, midface area, and the backs of the hands. It is the first FDA-approved filler indicated to add lift to the cheeks and add volume to correct and smooth smile lines (nasolabial folds), and to correct volume deficit in the backs of the hands.

Restylane Silk

Time and gravity often cause the lips to thin and lose shape, as well as the appearance of vertical lines above the lip (smoker’s lines). Restylane Silk is designed specifically to provide natural-looking results in these particular areas by using smaller, smoother hyaluronic acid particles than those used in other Restylane products.

Restylane Kysse

This exciting new filler was developed with XpresHAn technology, meaning it integrates into the skin for fuller, softer lips with natural expression and motion. Designed for use in the lips and lines around the upper lips, we also use it for marionette lines. Studies show Restylane Kysse results last up to 1 year.

Restylane Refyne

Restylane Refyne is a specially formulated hyaluronic acid dermal filler made with unique cross-linking within the gel for treating nasolabial folds and marionette lines with ultra-natural looking results. Refyne is designed to preserve your natural expressions and maintain natural movement when you’re smiling, frowning, etc.

Restylane Defyne

Restylane Defyne is very similar to Refyne, but used to treat more severe lines and folds, such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Like Refyne, it is designed to support your natural expressions and movement in the lower face.

Are the Products Safe?

Yes, the fillers are safe. All are FDA-approved, and prior to their approval in the United States, they had been used safely in Canada and Europe for many years.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Restylane has minimal side effects; however, some common injection-related reactions may occur, such as bruising, which is seen in about 20% of patients when injected with a needle. Additionally, following injection there may be swelling, which resolves within a day or two. For additional information, read what to expect during and after your treatment.

For a gentler injection procedure, our Injectors use the innovative microcannula injection method. These blunt-ended microcannulas cut fewer arteries and veins than needles, resulting in significantly less after-treatment bruising and swelling.

How Long Does Restylane Last?

The results of Restylane treatments should be visible for 6 to 15 months, depending on the location of the treatment and the nature of your skin. For example, highly mobile areas like the lips tend to require at least a touch-up treatment after about 6 months. Areas where there is less movement, such as under the eyes, may only require additional treatment after 15 months. Experience has shown that often, smaller amounts of Restylane are needed for maintenance than were needed for the initial correction. Restylane is a smooth, clear gel and “flows” when it is injected and goes in very evenly.

What Is the Difference Between Restylane Products and BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX Cosmetic is used to relax the muscles which cause many facial lines and unwanted facial expressions. Fillers like Restylane products fill creases, lips, tear troughs, and also defects like acne scars. Sometimes BOTOX Cosmetic is used in combination with Restylane products when treating certain areas where permanent deep lines have resulted from overactivity of the muscles, for example, some frown lines on the lower forehead or wrinkles around the lips.
