Before And After Upper Eyelid Filler Case 191
ABOUT OUR PATIENT
Several years ago, this patient of mine from Northern California underwent an upper lid blepharoplasty surgery. Unfortunately, she developed a post-operative complication of a skeletonized appearance because of the excessive amount of fat that was removed. Feeling discouraged because she felt her eyes looked too arched, the patient stopped into my San Francisco office for a consultation. She had heard about the possibility of treating this issue non-surgically using injectable Dermal Fillers.
MFI TREATMENT PLAN
The upper lid is a very unique and delicate area to treat with fillers, so we started slowly. Instead of placing the fillers on the eyelid itself, I applied the Artefill injection above the orbital rim.
THE OUTCOME
I can say we're very happy with this patient's results. Her eyes have regained their youthful fullness, and she feels much more comfortable with her appearance. I consider this a work in progress, since 50% of the Artefill placed will be permanent, and the other 50% will dissolve. We plan on repeating this procedure a couple of times to achieve a more permanent result.
Overall, it was nice to be able to replace some of the volume removed during her upper blepharoplasty surgery. Before dermal fillers were introduced, we had no easy way to fix this unfortunate issue.
