Before And After Lip Filler - Subtle Case 385

ABOUT OUR PATIENT
This middle-aged woman from San Francisco had never been entirely happy with the size of her upper lip. She would go as far as to put rolled-up Kleenex along her gum line so it would stick out more in photos. That's why she was so excited to find out that Non-Surgical Lip Augmentation using dermal fillers was a viable solution to her problem. It was important to take things slow with this patient. She was new to the realm of cosmetic surgery, especially non-surgical procedures. Even so, she had a very clear, distinct goal that she would stop to remind me from time to time.

"I want the lips to be fuller but believable"

As a board certified plastic surgeon who's seen his share of swollen "bee sting" lips, I knew exactly what this patient meant. She wanted her upper lip to have authentic, natural looking volume. She wanted a discreet improvement, not a drastic change. Luckily for her, these kinds of nuanced adjustments are what I specialize in.

We disscused to use Juvederm Ultra to make this slight augmentation. In order to minimize any swelling or bruising that tends to occur post-treatment, I used a microcannula to place the filler, which simplified the overall process quite a bit.

THE OUTCOME
I admit, I'm falling in love with lip augmentation procedures lately. Using Juvederm Ultra instead of Restylane to augment the mouth area has been providing astounding results that come easily and painlessly.
