ABOUT OUR PATIENT
This 48 year old woman from San Francisco was interested in augmenting her lips to provide more fullness and body, but without looking unnatural or having it be obvious that she had received treatment.
MFI TREATMENT PLAN
Her lips had a good shape to start, which makes adding volume using reversible dermal fillers a quick and straight-forward procedure. The important thing is to follow the natural shape of the lips, plumping the area within instead of trying to add volume along the outer edges. This causes a fake appearance, making it noticeable that the patient has altered their natural shape.
TREATMENT
In 2009 I used a dermal filler called Elevess to inject the lips. (Patients with allergies to sulfites should not use Elevess. If you have allergic symptoms when drinking red wine, this can indicate a sulfite allergy.)
Today in 2018 my go-to dermal filler for the lips is Juvederm Ultra.
THE OUTCOME
She received dramatic results with just one syringe. Her lips are now the perfect size for her face, plump and full without being exaggerated. She is very pleased with her results.
