Before And After Chin Bumps & Dimples Case 1197
ABOUT OUR PATIENT
Some people have a hyperactive mentalis muscle—the muscle responsible for lifting the skin on your chin. If this muscle works too hard, it can pull the chin back and cause bumps and dimpling.
This was the concern of our patient, a woman in her early 50s. She was bothered by a distracting lump on her chin, but didn’t want to undergo any expensive, complicated procedures like surgery.
MFI TREATMENT PLAN
Dr. Mabrie assessed her chin and found that her mentalis muscle was overactive. He injected BOTOX into this muscle, relaxing it and smoothing out the area.
THE OUTCOME
It couldn’t have been any easier! After just a couple of pokes and a few days to let the BOTOX activate, the patient’s chin is now bump-free. We typically recommend patients to come back every 3 months to maintain their results, but patients sometimes find that chin BOTOX trains their chin to relax even after the neuromodulator wears off.
